Webdesign
It is hard to define what webdesign really is, isn’t it??
Webdesign really is a combination of all the little tricks and tweaks that set your website apart from your competition. It’s a combination of all my services and can’t be limited down to creating a nice look and programming a website.
What you can expect from my webdesign services are concepts and creative ideas to drive your business to a whole new level. A good concept and creative ideas can radically change your attitude towards your own business. You will understand why things are done a certain way, you will see the value that you can create for your customers and clients and you will start to feel even more comfortable with your own business.
But the most brilliant plans and ideas won’t do you any good kept on record on a piece of paper. It is important that we get to execute those plans and take action. We know the goal and now we are going after it.
Let me briefly outline the four components building the groundwork for your online success. Those are the concept and design, the programming, the features and elements of your website and the consulting.
Concept and Design
Functional webdesign needs to be built on simplicity. Everything that does not add to a positive user experience or at least can be used to brand your business has to be eliminated. Simplicity makes it easier for your clients to find their way to the value you have to offer. Simplicity makes your website a lot easier for you to work with. It will be a breeze to manage your website yourself, to keep your content and products up to date and to offer a great service. But simplicity also makes it easier to optimize your website for human and robot readers.
You win by focusing on your core value, you win by simplicity. Or have ever heard of a company being highly successful with a product that nobody understood – apart from stock market and financial products that is. But you see, people don’t understand their products and as a result see how that market has been doing lately.
A functional website should contain some basic elements of usability. Those include a trustworthy first impression. The first glimpse on your pages should tell the viewers what they can expect from you and your business and the second glimpse should excite them. They need to see and feel that you have more value for them then others in the same field. For that to happen it needs a clear structure of the information you are presenting and an intuitive navigation.
Programming
I won’t bore you with too much detail here. Simplicity rules, even in programming. Stay away from fancy elements that do not add value and can’t even be used to brand your business. The code producing your website should be valid to work on all platforms. It should be optimized to reduce loading times. Well written code will also do your SEO a lot of good.
Wordpress provides a lot of that. That’s one reason why I just love to work with it. There are millions of websites using that software. But some are doing better than others. Open Source software provides a great foundation for us to start with. But in order for you to get on top or to stay on top it needs to be built into something unique. Your website is a tool and its purpose is to assist you with your tasks.
Features
The features you are embedding into your website and offering your clients and customers enhance the user experience. The simplest features would be informational pages found on your website or a contact form.
You don’t have to and shouldn’t use all the features available. There is no need to offer a forum on your website if there is nothing to share or discuss. With my consulting service I’ll help you pick those elements wisely and make the most out of them.
There are features that let you communicate your message to the world better then others. Other features invite your visitors to participate in interaction. You can add e-commerce functionality to your website, now easier than ever. Or incorporate elements to simply entertain your audience.
But what is comes done to each time is the value you create. Sorry for being repetitive, but I just can’t stress that enough. Value is the key factor and motivator for prospect clients and customers to make use of your offer. By implementing the right features you help your readers to understand your product, you make it easier for them to connect with you and you make it a pleasant experience to buy from you. It will also be fun to return to your website.
Consulting
Now that we have your website nicely in place and online and all the features up and running all you need to do is to start using your website as your tool. It is not enough to let it lie in cyberspace hoping for it to be found from time to time. But what was it with facebook, twitter, the products in your shop, landing pages, blogging, YouTube and LinkedIn that you were supposed to do? That is what my consulting service is for. I’ll let you know what to focus on and how manage it.
I have seen so many people who spend money on quality websites but didn’t get the return they were expecting. They were frustrated. The webdesigner (not me in that case
) was frustrated as the client kept coming back complaining that the website he purchased didn’t work for him. Well, it didn’t work for them but did they really work with it?
That is what makes the difference. And I’m here to help you befriend yourself with all that matter and get you going.
